The role
We're looking for a Construction Site Supervisor to join a 320MW capacity battery energy storage system (BESS) project at Monk Fryston, part of SSER's growing portfolio of onshore renewable energy developments. Acting as the on‑site representative for the Project Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering this flagship project safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute directly to the UK's net zero ambitions while working on large‑scale renewable infrastructure.
You will:
- Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring full compliance with health, safety and environmental standards
- Coordinate and oversee contractors to ensure work is delivered safely, efficiently and in line with programme
- Monitor project progress, identify risks early, and provide regular updates to the Project Manager
- Lead site meetings and maintain accurate, up‑to‑date project records
- Inspect materials and workmanship to ensure quality standards are consistently met
You have:
- Experience in construction site management or a Clerk of Works‑type role within infrastructure or energy projects
- Basic project management capability across scope, time, cost, quality, and risk
- Understanding of contract management (e.g. NEC3/NEC4, target cost or fixed price contracts)
- Strong knowledge of SHEW legislation and standards (e.g. CDM, LOLER, PUWER, HSG45)
- Health & Safety qualifications such as SSSTS (minimum), with SMSTS, IOSH or NEBOSH desirable
- Knowledge of HV/EHV grid connections is advantageous
