Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations and you'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in the office - Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.
Salary: £42,600 - £64,000 + performance-related bonus + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The role: As a Stakeholder Engagement Manager at SSEN Transmission, you’ll play a vital role in ensuring our major infrastructure projects are shaped by the voices of those they affect. In this 15 month fixed term contract, you'll identify and map key stakeholders to planning and delivering meaningful engagement. You’ll be central to building trust, securing consent, and strengthening relationships across communities, industry partners, and decision makers.
You will:
- Conduct thorough analysis to identify all individuals, groups or organisations that may be interested, affected by or have an impact on the development of our Pathway to 2030 and beyond projects.
- Maintain comprehensive stakeholder engagement mapping to understand stakeholders' levels of interest, influence and impact to ensure their needs and expectations are fully considered throughout the project life cycle.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary project development and delivery teams to create and maintain comprehensive stakeholder engagement plans which outline and monitor key engagement activities, identifying preferred communication methods, tracking feedback and ensuring transparent and timely engagement with all stakeholders.
- Be responsible for supporting the project teams deliver a range of engagement activities which help our projects achieve consent, including online and in person events using a variety of platforms and methods.
- Act as an advocate for SSEN Transmission, proactively communicating our strategic aims with identified key stakeholders.
- Evaluate the success of stakeholder engagement strategies and initiatives and implement continuous improvement in our engagement approach.
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of stakeholder engagement and identify potential risks and strategies to mitigate them.
You have:
- Knowledge and experience of using stakeholder engagement methods and tools to deliver comprehensive and effective engagement plans to ensure all stakeholders are properly considered in the development of our Pathway to 2030 projects.
- Knowledge of Tractivity or Accountability's AA1000 Stakeholder Engagement Standard would also be an advantage.
- Strong organisational and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to communicate complex information succinctly and tailor it to meet stakeholder needs.
- Confidence in building relationships and influencing internal and external stakeholders.
- Self‑motivation, resilience, flexibility, and the ability to find the right answers within a fast‑paced and diverse engineering‑focused organisation.
- Adept at problem solving, able to consider the 'bigger picture' and long‑term goals in assessing an issue and recommending a solution.
- An understanding of Energy Networks and the contribution of SSEN Transmission and its key role in the delivery of net zero targets.
- A degree in a relevant field such as Marketing and Communications, Strategy or Business (or equivalent experience) and a proficient user of Microsoft Office 365.
