The role:
Are you a Commercial and Construction Solicitor looking to work on some of the UK's most significant infrastructure projects? At SSEN Transmission, we're building the network needed to deliver a cleaner, more secure energy future. As we continue to invest in the electricity transmission network across the north of Scotland, we're growing our Construction & Commercial Legal Team and are seeking talented solicitors to join us. You will:
- Support the delivery of major infrastructure and construction projects through clear, pragmatic legal advice.
- Work closely with colleagues across project delivery, procurement, operations, asset management and regulation, building trusted relationships.
- Advise on construction, engineering, commercial and procurement contracts, helping teams navigate risk and make informed decisions.
- Contribute to a safe, collaborative and high-performing culture where knowledge sharing and continuous improvement are encouraged.
- Play a meaningful role in helping SSEN Transmission deliver the network required to support the UK's energy transition and net zero ambitions.
You have:
- Qualification as a Solicitor in Scotland and/or England & Wales, with experience as a newly qualified or at senior solicitor level.
- Experience or a genuine interest in construction, engineering, commercial contracts, infrastructure or energy-related legal matters.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to provide practical and commercially aware advice.
- A collaborative approach and a desire to work closely with business stakeholders to find solutions and deliver successful outcomes.
- Sound judgement, curiosity and the ability to manage competing priorities within a dynamic project environment.
