Base Location: Flexible Scotland, we will, however, need your base 'home' location to be one of our SSEN offices or depots around Dundee, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness.
Salary: £61,620 - £72,592 dependent on experience + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role: The Technical Services Team is responsible for the full design and delivery of SCADA field systems and Operational Technology Communications which SSEN use to operate primary and secondary assets across the Scottish Hydro Electric Power Distribution (SHEPD) licensed area.
You will:
- Design SCADA field systems and Operational Technology Networks that monitor and control SSEN's primary and secondary assets.
- Check and approve design deliverables according to Design Assurance requirements to ensure the most appropriate and cost-effective design solutions are selected to meet business and customer requirements.
- Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) technical support to the broader business and key stakeholders during the design, installation and operation of all field systems.
- Develop and maintain relationships with Framework Contractors to ensure SSEN standards are implemented throughout project lifecycles.
You have:
- A minimum of an HNC qualification in an electrical or telecommunications-based discipline; alternatively, suitable experience in a similar role would be considered.
- Experience in technical design and delivery of substation SCADA and/or communications systems.
- Working knowledge of communication protocols and operational communication methods such as DNP3/61850/TCP/UDP.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience of working with CAD systems would be beneficial.
This role involves travel across various locations to support business needs. To enable you to fulfil these responsibilities, as a role requirement, the company will provide access to a vehicle for work-related travel. The requirement will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and if the company car policy criteria are met, there will be an opportunity to join the company car scheme.
