Join SSE Renewables’ Hydro Operations on our four‑year engineering apprenticeship and help keep clean, renewable power flowing across Scotland. You’ll learn from experienced colleagues, build confidence on real sites and be part of a team where safety always comes first.
What to expect
- Learn on the job with skilled craft and engineering professionals who maintain our hydro assets, building essential practical engineering skills.
- Support daily operations, help troubleshoot electrical faults and contribute ideas that improve how our sites run.
- Develop specialist knowledge in electrical engineering, setting you up for a long‑term career in this field.
- Blend classroom and on‑site learning throughout the programme. Some training will take place via block release in Fife, where you’ll stay away from home for several weeks — your travel and accommodation are fully covered.
- Gain an industry‑recognised qualification: a Modern Apprenticeship in Engineering – Asset Lifecycle and Maintenance, preparing you to join our Hydro Operations team working on the largest fleet of hydro‑electric power assets in Scotland.
