Base Location: Invergarry Power Station, Inverness.

Salary: £34,749 – £40,939 depending on skills and experience + performance‑related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: Permanent & Full Time

The role:

As Mechanical Craftsperson, you’ll be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation, maintenance, and repair of our Hydro Generation plant to ensure it is kept in a safe and efficient state. You’ll be an important member of the operations and maintenance team, performing a key role in the safe operation and maintenance of the Hydro Generation assets. You will also be accountable for:

  • Carrying out mechanical maintenance activities and multi‑disciplinary defect rectification, repair work and designated project work.
  • Routine inspections and checks ensuring Generation equipment and fixed plant is kept to a high standard of operational effectiveness.
  • Conducting risk assessments, plus environmental and safety inspections and will receive training to operate Hydro generation plant.
  • Working closely with other team members, reporting, and repairing operational defects as they arise.

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • A mechanical or multi‑skilled craft background, ideally with experience of working on heavy rotating machinery.
  • A qualification of NVQ Level 3 / City and Guilds or equivalent craft apprenticeship certificates.
  • A good level of computer literacy, and we’ll train you to use our inhouse maintenance scheduling and reporting software.
  • A full and valid UK driving licence is essential, and a first aid qualification would be advantageous.

Candidates should live or be willing to relocate to within 30 miles of base location.
