Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations: Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Inverness, Reading, Havant, and other suitable SSE office locations.

Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

Working Pattern: 12 month Fixed Term Contract | Full Time | Flexible First options available.

The role: We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Manager to join our Learning and Talent team on a 12-month interim basis. In this collaborative and people-focused role, you’ll partner closely with key business areas to shape and deliver impactful learning solutions that support capability growth and business priorities. Working consultatively with stakeholders across the organisation, you’ll help foster a culture of continuous learning, encourage innovative thinking, and champion high‑quality development experiences that empower our people to thrive.

You will:

  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders across the business and wider HR community to understand learning needs and priorities.
  • Recommend and deliver effective, engaging learning solutions aligned to business goals and people capability plans.
  • Encourage innovative learning activity that supports compliance, continuous improvement, and positive behavioural change.
  • Facilitate open, constructive conversations that bring people together and encourage diverse perspectives.
  • Help drive operational excellence and high‑quality standards across learning and talent initiatives.

You have:

  • Strong experience managing senior stakeholders and working in a consultative partnership style, ideally within learning and development, HR, or people development.
  • A good understanding of learning principles, talent development, and supporting career growth.
  • Confidence influencing and communicating with a wide range of audiences in a thoughtful and collaborative way.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to produce clear, high‑quality work tailored to different audiences.
  • Excellent planning, communication, and facilitation skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and challenging timescales effectively.
