The role involves supporting the operational delivery of our business across SHEPD. You will be responsible for ensuring our depots, fleet, logistics and compliance activities are managed effectively, providing a safe, efficient and high-quality environment for both our employees and contractors. By delivering excellent support services, you'll help our operational teams perform at their best and continue providing outstanding service to our customers.
You will:
- Help deliver safe outcomes for our workforce, customers and the environment by ensuring regional depots and remote sites are operated safely, securely and effectively.
- Lead and develop a team of Resource Controllers and stores people, ensuring all stores and facilities management activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
- Be responsible for fleet, compliance and training activities, ensuring an excellent service is provided across the region.
- Oversee the delivery of cost-effective, timely and fit-for-purpose logistics solutions, ensuring teams have access to the materials, equipment and plant required to complete their work.
- Drive team productivity by setting clear performance expectations, monitoring results and implementing corrective actions where required, while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and shared learning.
- Support the wider Performance & Improvement management team in delivering a safe, reliable and affordable service for our customers.
You have:
- Management experience in leading a small team to deliver great outcomes for internal customers.
- Some understanding of commercial fleet, logistics, facilities management and compliance.
- An ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders and to build relationships to achieve business outcomes.
- An ability to use data to analyse performance and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- An ability to use IT effectively, including knowledge of core Microsoft IT software.
- The flexibility to respond to emergency events, including severe weather incidents, as required by the needs of the SSEN business.
This role involves travel across various locations to support business needs. To enable you to fulfil these responsibilities, the company will provide access to a vehicle for work-related travel. A valid driving licence is essential.
