The role
The Scotland England Green Link project portfolio will play a critical role in the achievement of the UK’s net zero targets, connecting the low carbon electricity resources in the north of Scotland to demand centres in the south.
The HVDC Interface Project Manager is a key role with responsibility for the planning, implementation and monitoring of the points of interaction between commercial, stakeholder and technical elements of the construction contracts involved in the project (HVDC Converter station construction and civil works packages) to negate all issues with the potential for impact to cost or programme.
You will
- Set the agenda and lead meetings between interfacing contractors and their teams, ensuring collaboration between contracting organisations to benefit the project.
- Understand and communicate changes to design and construction activities that would affect interfacing parties, giving due consideration to CDM Regulations.
- Drive the sharing of information between interfacing contract packages using ACC Build.
- Work closely with multi-disciplinary engineering teams and construction managers, including collaboration with the Employer’s Project Management team.
- Understand and drive programme priorities, whilst owning and managing any interface risks.
You have
- An appropriate Engineering or Construction background; well-rehearsed in health and safety legislation practices with working knowledge of the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015. A Project Management qualification would be valuable.
- The ability to manage interfaces between contractors and SSEN Transmission with experience of the reporting and management of requirements that come with such a role.
- In depth experience of effective influencing and negotiating with multiple stakeholders building a culture of partnership and collaboration.
- Demonstrable experience in making balanced and well-informed decisions to benefit the project.
- Fluency in basic MS software packages and document management/workflow software.
