By championing best practices in OT—such as system interoperability, resilience, and alignment with industry standards—the architect drives the evolution of critical infrastructure and operational processes. This role demands a proactive approach to embedding OT considerations into architecture blueprints, collaborating across teams to optimise value streams and enhance business outcomes while maintaining compliance, security, and operational integrity.

  • Solution Design & Delivery: Designs and delivers high‑level solution architectures aligned with business needs, oversees design integrity through the product lifecycle, and acts as technical design authority to ensure alignment and resolve design issues.
  • Stakeholder & Team Collaboration: Works closely with stakeholders to shape solutions that meet business and budget requirements, builds strong relationships, and supports product analysts in defining functional needs using standard features.
  • Strategic & Commercial Alignment: Applies commercial awareness to maximise IT/OT investments, engages with strategic partners and suppliers, and ensures architectural decisions align with business strategy and commercial benefit.
  • Leadership & Innovation: Provides direction, guidance, and coaching to team members; promotes innovation; manages technical debt; and helps protect the business from cyber risks by following and promoting security standards.

You Have:

  • Operational & Strategic Alignment: Deep understanding of operational environments, business objectives, and how technology investments support efficiency, resilience, and innovation.
  • OT/IT Integration & Architecture: Skilled in translating complex OT requirements into architectural solutions that align with organisational strategy, with expertise in IT/OT convergence and secure integration.
  • Technical Expertise in OT Systems: Strong knowledge of industrial control systems (ICS), real‑time systems, data acquisition, edge computing, and legacy system integration.
  • Security, Compliance & Risk Management: Familiar with safety standards, regulatory compliance, risk management, incident response, and disaster recovery in OT environments.
  • Specialised Product Knowledge: In‑depth expertise in OT platforms, including ADMS (e.g. GE PowerOn), DERMS/ANM systems, and real‑time historian/analytics services.

Benefits: Flexible benefits to fit your life: Enjoy discounts on private healthcare and gym memberships, wellbeing benefits like a free online GP and 24/7 counselling service. Interest‑free loans on tech and transport season tickets, or a new bike with our Cycle to Work scheme. As well as generous family entitlements such as maternity and adoption pay, and paternity leave.
