The Role: This role helps SSEN Distribution get more value from their data by making it easier, safer and more responsible to share and use. You'll work across teams to support open and trusted data, improve how data is governed, and help shape better ways of working that benefit customers, colleagues and external partners. It's a great opportunity to build experience at the intersection of data, regulation and real world impact.
- Support data sharing and open data by reviewing data requests, helping publish data responsibly, and making sure clear controls are in place to protect privacy, security and trust.
- Work closely with a wide range of stakeholders to understand how data is used, gather feedback from data users, and help turn that insight into practical improvements.
- Help improve data quality and clarity, supporting good use of standards, metadata and best practice so people can trust and understand the data they use.
- Contribute to data governance and strategy delivery, helping embed consistent ways of working that improve data literacy, transparency and ethical data use.
- Play an active role in communication and engagement, including supporting workshops, events or webinars that explain data clearly and encourage collaboration.
You have:
- A strong interest in data and its value, with experience or understanding of how good data supports better decisions, services or outcomes.
- Knowledge of data protection, regulation or compliance, with an awareness of how data must be used responsibly and lawfully.
- The ability to work well with others, building positive relationships and communicating clearly with people from different backgrounds and levels of experience.
- Strong communication skills, with confidence explaining complex ideas in plain English, both in writing and in conversation.
