Base Location: Portsmouth, Aldershot or Basingstoke. You’ll be expected to spend approximately 50% of your working week at one of the above depots or on-site.

About the Role

We are looking for a Civils Co-ordinator to join our team. In this role, you will assess non-electrical substation maintenance issues, such as brickwork defects and fencing concerns, and arrange minor repairs. You will also escalate more significant issues such as roof leaks to the Civils Manager. You’ll carry out safety audits on contractors, monitor the quality of workmanship, and handle customer complaints relating to substations.

  • Carry out safety audits on SSE staff and contractors involved in civils-related works
  • Conduct quality control checks on contractor work
  • Perform condition assessments of non-electrical substation infrastructure
  • Support statutory compliance activities, including asbestos surveys and legionella checks
  • Assist other SSE teams as required

You have:

  • Previous experience in a building or construction environment is desirable
  • Experience dealing with customers and handling complaints
  • Good IT skills
  • Ability to work independently
