The predicted salary is between 50100 - 75100 £ per year.

Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of the following locations or at site: Aberdeen, Perth, Glasgow, Lowestoft or Reading whilst other SSER locations can be considered.

Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + car/car allowance - if applicable + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role: As a Quality Lead within SSE Renewables’ Development and Construction Services team, you’ll support the successful delivery of major renewable energy projects by promoting high standards of quality throughout all stages of development and construction. Working in line with ISO9000 standards and SSE’s project governance framework, you’ll help embed a strong quality culture across projects while supporting continuous improvement and operational excellence.

You will:

  • Provide quality support across all stages of project development and construction, including supporting project governance activities and contributing to technical and contractual requirements.
  • Implement and maintain Quality Management System processes within projects, ensuring quality standards are consistently applied and monitored.
  • Coordinate inspections, audits, reporting activities and the management of non-conformances, defects and remedial works across project sites and contractor locations.
  • Work closely with project management, contractors and international teams to provide updates on quality performance, support root cause investigations and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support site and manufacturing inspections, ensuring teams have access to the correct procedures, documentation, equipment and quality-related guidance.

You have:

  • Experience delivering Quality Assurance and Quality Control activities within large construction or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of quality management systems, auditing processes and quality documentation within major capital projects.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience working collaboratively across multidisciplinary and international teams.
  • An engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification and practical industry experience.
  • A proactive approach to safety, continuous improvement and problem solving; experience in offshore projects areas such as renewables or oil & gas, onshore transmission projects, welding, coatings or non‑destructive testing would be advantageous.
