The role: We are building out our AI and Automation capability to support how we deliver efficient, intelligent and scalable services across SSEN Transmission. As a Developer, you will play a key role in designing, building and supporting modern solutions that combine automation, data and artificial intelligence. You will work across a broad technology landscape, including Microsoft Power Platform and AI agent frameworks to deliver solutions, in a role that goes beyond building apps and workflows. You will help explore and apply emerging technologies such as Copilot Studio agents, agentic automation and AI enabled workflows, working closely with business stakeholders to prototype, test and productionise new capabilities. You will also support and evolve existing Power Platform solutions, ensuring they are secure, maintainable and aligned to good engineering practice. This includes working with environments, deployment pipelines and platform standards to support a consistent and reliable delivery model. You will work closely with data, analytics and technology teams to ensure solutions integrate effectively, supporting a connected and intelligent digital ecosystem.
You will:
- Build and enhance business applications using the Power Platform, including Power Apps and Power Automate, delivering solutions that are reliable, user-friendly and meet real business needs.
- Design and develop AI-enabled solutions, including Copilot Studio agents and automation patterns that combine workflows, data and intelligent capabilities.
- Support the administration of Power Platform environments, with experience of security and governance controls.
- Contribute to and operate application lifecycle management (ALM) pipelines, including deploying solutions, troubleshooting issues and improving release processes and standards.
- Work across teams to prototype and deliver solutions that integrate with data, analytics and emerging platforms, while continuing to develop your expertise in governance, solution design and modern AI driven approaches.
You have:
- Practical experience building solutions using Microsoft technologies, including Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate), in a real delivery or project environment.
- Experience or exposure to AI and automation concepts, such as conversational agents, AI-assisted workflows, or working with tools like Copilot Studio or similar technologies.
- Exposure to application lifecycle management (ALM) concepts, with hands-on experience working with deployments, environments or release processes.
- An understanding of how solutions behave across environments, including awareness of security roles, pipelines, deployment approaches, and interaction with data platforms such as Fabric and semantic models.
- Exposure to broader software development approaches and technologies (for example APIs, Azure services, or frameworks such as React), alongside a proactive, self-starting approach to developing and applying new skills.
