The role involves joining the central Transmission Reporting and Analytics team working across a wide range of real business problems, shaping how data is used for reporting, self‑service and advanced analytics. This role focuses on turning complex data from across the organisation into trusted, reusable analytical models and datasets that enable consistent reporting and scalable insight.
- Analyse data from a range of sources, including platform data, operational systems and business‑managed datasets, shaping it into structured datasets for reporting and analytics use cases.
- Design and develop reusable analytical and reporting models that support consistent reporting, self‑service and advanced analytics.
- Translate business questions into clear data requirements, working closely with product, engineering and architecture teams.
- Define and document business logic, data definitions and transformations used within reporting and analytical models.
- Improve the usability and consistency of reporting data, following guidance from the Data Architecture team regarding standards for modelling, performance and reuse.
You have:
- Strong data modelling skills, with the ability to develop reusable reporting and analytical models that are scalable, usable and well‑structured.
- Proven ability to work with complex and sometimes fragmented data sources, including operational systems, spreadsheets and business‑managed data.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn ambiguous business questions into practical reporting and analytics solutions.
- Experience working in an agile environment, taking ownership of problems, working from loosely defined requirements and engaging directly with stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work across technical and business teams to define, challenge and deliver practical data solutions.
