The predicted salary is between 85500 - 104500 £ per year.

Base Location: Perth, Glasgow, Reading or London. You'll be expected to spend at least 50% of your working week in one of these locations.

Salary: Circa £95,000 + car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role

This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of one of the UK's leading energy brands during a period of significant growth and transformation. Reporting to the Managing Director of Corporate Affairs and Regulation, you'll lead SSE's brand strategy across the Group, bringing our purpose and ambition to life for policymakers, investors, employees, customers and communities.

Leading a talented team of brand and design professionals, you'll strengthen the value and reputation of the SSE brand, build trust among key audiences, and inspire confidence in SSE's ambition to make electricity clean, affordable and available for all.

You will:

  • Define and evolve SSE's Group brand strategy, ensuring it supports our purpose, growth ambitions and long-term business priorities.
  • Champion and protect the SSE brand, leading identity, architecture and governance to deliver a clear, consistent and distinctive brand experience.
  • Lead strategic brand, reputation and employer brand initiatives that strengthen awareness, trust and advocacy, while demonstrating SSE's role in delivering a more sustainable energy future.
  • Influence and align senior stakeholders across the business to embed a cohesive approach that enhances reputation, supports growth and creates long-term value.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team, fostering an inclusive environment that encourages creativity, innovation and growth.

You have:

  • Significant experience leading brand strategy within a large, complex organisation.
  • Proven success delivering communications, campaigns and brand identity programmes that strengthen reputation, engagement and business performance.
  • A track record of building and developing high-performing, inclusive teams.
  • Exceptional influencing and relationship-building skills, with the credibility to engage and advise senior stakeholders and executive leaders.
  • A strategic and commercial mindset, with the ability to translate business priorities into growth, stakeholder confidence and long-term value.
