Base Location: You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in Inverness or Elgin Depot.

The role:

  • SSEN Distribution has an exciting opportunity for a Minor Connections Project Manager within our Connections department. This role will involve the development, refinement and execution of new projects across our operational area.
  • This role will be involved with projects in the Inverness and Elgin area and will involve a mixture of working from home and at our office in Inverness/Elgin.
  • You will ensure the safe delivery of projects to programme, cost and the necessary quality, using robust systems to support the project process.
  • Lead the delivery of key project programme outputs, managing both internal and external stakeholders and coordinate with departments such as design and engineering, planning, environmental and consents.
  • Provide support to both our customer and delivery partners to ensure the projects proceed efficiently, including facilitating and attending site meetings.
  • Drive profitability and opportunity through excellent customer service, identifying areas of improvement to work collaboratively with the delivery partners and wider business.
  • Apply and adhere to the Safety Management Systems, CDM regulations, best practices and follow governance processes for all projects where required.

You have:

  • Experience in both people and customer management with a proven ability to deliver work safely, on time and within budget.
  • A track record of meeting project timelines, quality and cost targets, with accurate and timely reporting of project progress and financial performance.
  • Experience developing project programmes, cost plans and resource schedules ensuring delivery of practical and cost-effective solutions.
  • A working knowledge of a regulated environment, ideally within the electricity or utilities sector.
  • Experience of LV, 11kV and 33kV networks is advantageous but not essential.
  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects in line with governance processes, with a strong working knowledge of Construction (Design & Management) Regulations.

This role involves travel across various locations to support business needs. To enable you to fulfil these responsibilities, as a role requirement, the company will provide access to a vehicle for work-related travel. The requirement will be reviewed on an ongoing basis, and if the company car policy criteria are met, there will be an opportunity to join the company car scheme. Provision of a company car or cash allowance does not form part of the contractual terms and conditions of employment for this role. A valid driving licence is essential.
