We're looking for an exceptional Head of Systematic Trading to help shape and guide that journey.

You will:
- Shape and grow SSE's systematic trading capability, creating the frameworks, governance and operating model needed to support safe, sustainable and scalable trading activity.
- Inspire, develop and empower a diverse team of quantitative traders and analysts, fostering a culture of collaboration, learning, wellbeing and high performance.
- Partner closely with colleagues across Trading, Risk, Compliance, Technology and Data to deliver innovative trading strategies that create long-term value.
- Provide thoughtful leadership and stewardship of a significant proprietary P&L, balancing ambition with robust risk management and strong governance.
- Influence the future direction of Energy Markets, helping embed systematic trading capabilities that support SSE's long-term growth and success.
You have:
- Significant experience leading teams within quantitative, systematic or proprietary trading environments, energy markets, trading houses or hedge funds.
- A strong track record of delivering commercial success whilst maintaining effective governance, risk management and regulatory compliance.
- Deep understanding of power, gas and wider energy markets, together with the complexities of trading operations and market dynamics.
- The ability to build trusted relationships and bring people together around a common vision, influencing stakeholders from technical specialists to executive leaders.
- A natural curiosity, growth mindset and passion for innovation, with the drive to build an industry-leading capability and support others to thrive along the way.
