Working Pattern: Permanent - Offshore
As an Offshore Commissioning / HV Authorised Engineer, you will play a key role in safely delivering and energising offshore wind assets. Supporting projects from construction through to commissioning and handover, you’ll be responsible for both the execution of commissioning activities and, where authorised, the safe control of high‑voltage systems. This is a dynamic, hands‑on offshore role offering the opportunity to work across 66kV electrical systems, wind turbine generators, and associated infrastructure while contributing to the successful delivery of major renewable energy projects.
You will:
- Support and deliver commissioning activities across offshore wind assets, including wind turbines, inter‑array cables, and associated electrical systems.
- Carry out or support high‑voltage switching operations and safely manage electrical systems in line with industry standards and safety rules.
- Prepare, issue and manage safety documentation such as permits to work, isolation procedures, and access controls (where authorised).
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and project teams to resolve technical issues and ensure systems are ready for energisation and handover.
- Monitor and report on commissioning progress, risks, and performance, contributing to safe, high‑quality project delivery.
You have:
- Experience in an electrical engineering environment with exposure to LV/HV systems, including 66kV networks, cables, or switchgear.
- Knowledge of offshore wind farm construction, commissioning, or operations, or experience in a comparable high‑voltage industrial setting.
- Understanding of electrical safety rules and switching procedures; SAP authorisation up to 66kV is advantageous but not essential.
- A relevant technical qualification or apprenticeship in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast‑paced offshore environment.
Additional travel may be required in UK and Europe based on Project requirements.
Flexible benefits to fit your life include discounts on private healthcare and gym memberships, wellbeing benefits like a free online GP and 24/7 counselling service, interest‑free loans on tech and transport season tickets, or a new bike with our Cycle to Work scheme, as well as generous family entitlements such as maternity and adoption pay, and paternity leave.
