A Contract Manager is required to join our Procurement and Commercial (P&C) team supporting the SSEN Large Capital Delivery Directorate.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the tender process for projects from invitation to tender through to contract award and subsequent commercial management of the delivery phase.
- Manage the procurement of essential work scopes, procuring at lowest cost of ownership and in accordance with the principle of efficiency and best value.
- Cover all commercial, business and legal project risks in contracts and negotiate terms and conditions within own area of responsibility to ensure ongoing value for money throughout the lifetime of the contract.
- Support cost estimating and forecasting to required standard and accuracy.
- Provide robust post-contract commercial management services.
- Provide a world class procurement and commercial service to internal stakeholders ensuring compliance with internal controls in line with capital project governance and commercial manuals.
Qualifications:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification together with demonstrable experience of managing contracts on large capital or programmes of work.
- Knowledge and Understanding of the requirements of the Utilities Contract Regulations 2016 and Procurement Act 2023.
- Knowledge of commercial governance arrangements for the development and execution of large capital projects.
- Experience of estimating, sourcing management, cost & budget management and contract administration.
- Experience of drafting and interpreting commercial contracts, including Standard Form construction contracts, bespoke contract arrangements and NEC Contracts.
