Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship

Base Location: Perth

Salary: Circa £24,580+ a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and wellbeing. Salary upon finishing the programme is circa £29,000 per annum, depending on role.

What is the role?

Our Business Management Graduate Apprenticeship programme lasts for four years and combines part-time attendance at university finishing with a BSc (Hons) in Business Management and work-based experience. You will be part of our Project Services team and this programme will support your development and expand your knowledge and experience to work towards becoming a Document Controller, Planner, or Project Coordinator.

Within Transmission, our projects include works to reinforce our existing transmission network, construct new overhead lines, lay new sub-sea cables and increase the capacity of our substations to accommodate new renewable generation schemes, as we move away from fossil fuels towards our net zero future. As part of these projects, our Project Services team provides vital support to ensure they run efficiently from development to delivery stage.

Whilst on the programme you will rotate amongst the different teams to gain experience of the key areas of Project Services before deciding your preference to specialise in one of the listed areas;

Responsibilities / Areas of focus

  • Document Controlling - Responsible for the management and control of project/business documents and records and ensuring that the Project Teams operate in accordance with set processes and procedures.
  • Planning - Planning projects across the full project lifecycle including producing and maintaining client perspective programmes that support the project work processes, milestones, and deadlines. Liaising with project teams, contractors, site management, and commercial teams to effectively report on project progress.
  • Project Coordination – Including administrative tasks, information management, and support activities. Establishing and maintaining quality governance for administrative processes, data gathering and analysis, and multi-tasking to meet demanding priorities.

What you need

To be considered for this role, we would love you to be:

  • Highly organised and self-driven with the ability to manage your time well.
  • Flexible in your approach to work to maximise your chances of success, and you should be happy working alone or as part of a team.

For entrance onto the educational aspect of our programme it\'s important that you have or expect to achieve one of the below qualifications prior to starting the programme in August 2026:

  • Four SQA Highers at Grade BBBB. National 5 grade C in Maths/Life Skills, Maths/Applications of Maths and English are required if not taken at Higher
  • A Foundation Apprenticeship in a relevant subject at SCQF Level 6 plus two SQA Highers
  • A Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF Level 6-7 in a related discipline
  • HNC with C in the graded unit in a related discipline

If you have already completed a Foundation or Modern Apprenticeship in a related subject, this will also contribute towards meeting the entry requirements. Successful candidates will be subject to the university entry requirements.
