The role:
SSEN Transmission is seeking a skilled Real Time System Delivery RTSD/SCADA Project Manager to join our dynamic team, playing a key role in the delivery of critical control system solutions across our Transmission network. This role offers the chance to shape both bespoke and standardised control solutions while working closely with teams across the business.
You will:
- Develop project requirements into control system solutions which can be deployed within our Transmission network.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of design, liaison, procurement, project management and system commissioning. This will allow you a unique opportunity to view the full project life cycle.
- Identify where any new project specific design is required during the design phase, or if the project requirements will fall into an existing standard design solution.
- Work with internal stakeholders, such as other business units, engineering departments, project managers and designers to identify project scope and detailed requirements. You'll then further develop the project by agreeing the design deliverables and the delivery programme.
You have:
- Significant experience within project management coupled with a strong background in the design and implementation of Control & SCADA systems utilising DNP3. Experience with the application of IEC 61850 would also be advantageous.
- The ability to negotiate and agree project scope, costs and expectations to ensure all RTS/SCADA works and interfaces are managed and implemented by the various teams and subcontractors.
- Strong communication skills to manage your stakeholders and build effective working relationships.
- Working knowledge of CDM regulations with a keen focus on safety.
- A minimum of an HNC qualification in an electrical or telecommunications-based discipline; alternatively, suitable experience in a similar role may be considered.
