We have an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager to join our team!

Role Overview

In this role, you’ll support the Regional Team Manager and Out of Area Delivery Manager in delivering SSE Network’s Out of Area Projects. You’ll manage and coordinate external contractors, overseeing all aspects of connections to the SEPD and SHEPD Networks, across all voltages, including unmetered connections. You’ll ensure every project is delivered safely, efficiently, and to regulatory standards, driving performance, maximising value, and ensuring our networks are fit for purpose. With a focus on innovation and continuous improvement, you’ll help shape the future of our network delivery.

We’re looking for a proactive, hands‑on Project Manager who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and enjoys turning plans into action.

You Will

  • Lead the delivery of multiple electrical connection projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Drive a strong safety‑first culture, ensuring all contractors and direct labour work to SSE’s Safety Family standards.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders from enquiry through to completion.
  • Manage project finances, track costs, raise invoices, and oversee payments.
  • Champion innovation and continuous improvement across project delivery and performance.

You Have

  • Proven experience in electrical project delivery within the utilities or energy sector.
  • HNC (or higher) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering (or equivalent relevant experience).
  • Strong knowledge of health & safety practices (e.g., SMSTS qualification).
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills at all levels.
  • Working knowledge of distribution networks up to 11kV, regulatory standards, and industry codes of practice.

Travel across various locations is required. A full UK driving licence is required for this position, and the company will provide access to a vehicle for work‑related travel.
