SSE are looking for a Power Plant Manager for our embedded sites in Burghfield & Chickerell. The Embedded Plant Manager will be responsible for a comprehensive engineering service that ensures the safe operation, reliability, continuous improvement and efficiency of plant and equipment at our OCGT (open cycle gas turbine) sites.
You will:
- Be responsible for the successful year on year delivery of the power plant targets and objectives.
- Be responsible for project and budget planning of planned outage maintenance works and unit overhauls and projects from their conception through to execution, final commissioning and closure ensuring that they achieve their objectives in relation to budget, quality, timescales and technical deliverables.
- Set up and maintain high standards in Safety, Health and Environmental performance, ensuring that all statutory obligations and SSE safety rules are complied with and that accurate records are kept.
- Make significant contributions to the short- and long-term strategy for the sites in conjunction with relevant stakeholders in Thermal Engineering and Asset Management.
- Provide leadership, direction & culture development that proactively encourages a culture of involvement, engagement, teamwork and individual development.
You have:
- A proven understanding of Asset Management activities required for the overall management of OCGT plant or similar utility.
- Outstanding engineering and operational leadership skills, with a track record of achieving results.
- The skills to work in an environment that is passionate about safety, innovation, teamwork and excellence in everything we do.
- Demonstrable competence of managing significant budgets and contracts with key suppliers.
- A relevant qualification in an engineering discipline, with significant leadership experience, ideally in the electricity supply industry or similar utility.
Candidates for this role will be required to obtain vetting to SC level through UK Government. The criteria normally includes 5 years UK residency.
