Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based from one of our Scottish locations – Aberdeen, Glasgow, Inverness, Perth, Shetland.
Salary: £50,100 - £75,100 + car/car allowance + performance-related bonus + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

The role: SSEN Transmission’s Offshore Delivery Team is currently recruiting for a Project Manager to deliver projects within the Shetland AC portfolio that shall directly facilitate Scotland's ambitions to meet Net Zero. Reporting to a Lead Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing a multi-disciplinary project team and framework supply chain partners to ensure projects are delivered safely and in line with the business case. The scale of our portfolio of projects is already large and is likely to grow in the coming years, meaning there will likely be opportunities for progression within the business.
You Will:
- Be responsible for the delivery of large capital projects, ensuring that these are delivered safely and on time, while meeting cost and quality targets.
- Be responsible for managing a team via matrix management, working closely with external delivery contractors and consultants. You will have demonstrable experience of operating and performing in a similar delivery environment.
- Have full accountability for the NEC3 contract management of your packages, including interface management and change control, whilst providing strong commercial leadership to your project team.
- Work closely with the Transmission Management team to uphold the highest level of safety and environmental performance ensuring projects are refined, constructed and commissioned in accordance with regulatory requirements and the CDM regulations.
- Build and maintain productive and enduring relationships with stakeholders and communities to support the sustainable delivery of the projects that you are responsible for.
You have:
- A proven track record of safely delivering packages of work or projects to cost, schedule and quality in the Transmission, Construction, Oil & Gas, Nuclear, or other regulated industry / the wider utilities sector.
- A passion for safety, with an understanding of project management methodology and practice to lead a multi-discipline team to success coupled with an engineering, construction, or project management qualification/degree or equivalent experience is required.
- Engineering or construction knowledge and understanding, including the associated environmental and safety legislation e.g. the CDM 2015 regulations.
- Contractual management experience (NEC experience is preferable), with the ability to forecast and control costs as well as develop and manage integrated project programmes.
- An open and collaborative mindset, with excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships across diverse teams and locations.
Regular onsite presence is expected during execution phases so a driving licence is required.
