We are looking to welcome a Dispute Resolution Solicitor to join our SSEN Transmission Dispute Resolution, Environment and Consents Legal Team. This is an exciting opportunity to build your legal career while playing a meaningful part in the transition to a low-carbon future.

As part of a supportive and collaborative legal team, you will contribute to work that truly matters. With significant investment planned over the coming years, this is a unique time to join a growing, high-profile sector where your expertise will make a visible difference.
You will:
- Support and represent SSEN Transmission in a range of contentious proceedings, including Necessary Wayleave hearings, Public Local Inquiries, Planning Appeals and Court proceedings.
- Work closely with colleagues across the business and wider legal function, including land, regulation, project development, planning, environment and marine, asset management, operations and the wider SSE dispute resolution team - fostering strong, collaborative relationships.
- Play an active role in stakeholder engagement as we develop and deliver strategic infrastructure projects that support communities and sustainability goals.
- Provide clear, proactive and pragmatic legal advice across consenting, regulatory and operational matters, ensuring risks are well understood and carefully managed.
- Build and nurture trusted relationships with external panel firms and Counsel.
You:
- Are qualified as a solicitor in Scotland with up to three years’ post-qualification experience in dispute resolution.
- Have an interest in the electricity industry and are motivated by contributing to the Net Zero transition.
- Value collaboration, communication and building strong professional relationships.
- Are confident, thoughtful and solutions-focused in their approach to complex matters.
