Join a dynamic team as a Senior Leader driving the delivery of critical infrastructure projects across SSEN’s networks up to 132kV. You will collaborate with design teams to shape project plans that are cost-effective, timely, and aligned with customer and regulatory expectations. You will also lead and coordinate with trusted external contractors to ensure exceptional performance and service delivery. As a valued member of the SEPD Customer Delivery Team, you’ll play a key role in powering communities, delivering high-impact results on time, on budget, and to the highest standards.

You will:

  • Performance & Compliance Oversight: Maintain real-time understanding of contracted resource performance, ensuring technical quality and compliance.
  • Investment Portfolio: Managing a range of projects in accordance with our investment management process. Responsible for all aspects of the project including safety, quality, cost and programme.
  • Daily Coordination & Communication: Lead day-to-day tracking and coordination of in-scope work and resources, establishing effective communication with contract partners, CLOs, and internal teams.
  • Quality, Safety & Documentation: Ensure all project documentation, from job packs to completion records, is accurate and of high quality, while guaranteeing that all contractors are properly trained, authorised, and working safely. Monitor performance of SHE, welfare, compliance, team capabilities and the training portfolio of your team.
  • Continuous Improvement & Accountability: Identify performance gaps or improvement opportunities, implement timely action plans, and collaborate with CMI colleagues and leadership to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
  • Productivity Improvement: Look to improve productivity whilst still making sure work is completed and recorded to a high standard. You’ll also look after team areas such as absence, holidays and capability to ensure enough staff are available to meet the programme of work.
  • Commercial Awareness & Regulatory Compliance: Make commercially sound decisions, manage budgets effectively, and ensure delivery of cost-efficient, regulatory-compliant work that meets both customer expectations and business targets.

You have:

  • Utility & Operational Expertise: 132/33kv substation experience and a strong background in contract partner management and operational delivery.
  • Commercial & Regulatory Awareness: Solid understanding of DNO operations, revenue generation, price control frameworks, and regulatory standards.
  • Cross-Functional Business Knowledge: Appreciation of how different business functions interrelate, alongside a strong grasp of local business plans and customer service strategies.
  • Technical & IT Proficiency: Hands-on technical knowledge of electricity distribution or related sectors, supported by competent IT.
  • Leadership & Personal Attributes: Effective communicator and decision-maker with project delivery skills, commercially focused mindset, and a collaborative, trustworthy, and performance-driven approach. Experience with Stakeholder management so that you can communicate with people at all levels.

Regular travel is required and as a result we can only accept applications from candidates that hold a current driving license.
