The Role
As a Smart Buildings Business Manager, you will play a critical role in driving our expansion efforts and identifying new strategic partnerships. Reporting to the Operations Director, this is a leadership position with business P&L responsibility, running an established projects, maintenance and support delivery & sales team.
You will
- Be responsible for the development and execution of the regional business plan, including financial performance and all aspects of operational delivery.
- Lead an engineering team working with you to achieve planned objectives and budgets focused on both business and customer needs.
- Work with the sales department to grow market share within the retrofit and new build construction market.
- Forge strong relationships which will ensure commercial and financial compliance.
- Have a strong feel for activity in the market place ensuring competitor and market differentiation, which will make for informed decision making.
You have
- A proven track record in delivering and maintaining Smart Buildings or BEMS solutions, with a focus on optimising performance, improving efficiency, and supporting decarbonisation targets.
- Strong leadership skills, able to secure stakeholder buy-in at all levels, including senior management.
- Experience owning business unit P&L – forecasting, budgeting, and delivering accurate, transparent commercial reporting.
- Expertise in leading multi-disciplinary engineering, maintenance, and delivery teams, driving performance, developing capability, and ensuring service excellence.
- Commercial astuteness, with the ability to translate operational data into actionable insights, present compelling business cases, and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.
- Demonstrated success in account management, developing long-term client partnerships, and contributing to business growth strategies at regional or national level.
