Base Location: For this role, we require successful applicants to be based in Perth or Dundee
Salary: £38,966 - £45,905 + Standby payments, overtime, and a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.
Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time
The role
As an Overhead Linesperson within SSEN Transmission's South Overhead Line Team, you will be responsible for carrying out the inspection and maintenance activities on the Transmission network. The team also support construction and refurbishment projects, as well as responding to and repairing faults on the overhead line network.
You will
- Carry out inspection, maintenance and repair activities on our 132kV, 275kV and 400kV overhead line network covering the North East, Tayside, and Argyll.
- Occasionally work away from your base location during the week and / or at weekends. Overnight accommodation and an evening meal allowance is provided.
- Form part of a standby rota that provides fault response across 365 days of the year.
- Update and record defect and repair activities ensuring they are uploaded to the asset management platform.
Respond to emergency situations to investigate, plan and carry out repairs as required.
You have
- An industry recognised qualification for both wood pole and steel tower access and rescue or proven previous experience working on the electricity network.
- A qualification from a recognised overhead line training provider.
- Experience in the construction and / or maintenance of overhead power lines.
- You will be comfortable working at height and enjoy working outdoors in all weather.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work well in a team.
