South Shore Early Education, a program of South Shore Community Action Council – a private non-profit in Plymouth, providing multi-level program support on the South Shore, Wareham, Cape Cod, and the Islands, seeks a full-time Nursing Assistant at the Plymouth location. All company benefits apply, no nights, no weekends.
POSITION: 35 hours per week, 52 weeks per year
Core Responsibilities:
Assist program nurse with the measuring and recording of vital signs. Report health information to program nurse both accurately, and timely. Maintain health records of students. Data entry of child health documentation into software programs. Perform basic first aid/clinical skills under the direction of the program nurse. Provide adjunct care and defer care to the school nurse or director when out of CNA scope. Daily health checks of children, following up on any medical issues or concerns that may arise. Participate in all required Head Start health screenings (hearing, vision, nutrition) and maintain current physical & dental exam records for each child. Collaborate with other program nurses to provide high quality health, oral health, mental health and nutritional services that are developmentally, culturally and linguistically appropriate and that will support each child’s growth and school readiness.
Core Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
Valid MA Certified Nursing Assistant.
1-2 years of experience working in healthcare, preferably the pediatric or school setting, intern work, and volunteer hours accepted.
Excellent computer skills. BI-lingual (Portuguese, Arabic or Spanish) preferred, although not required.
All candidates must have a current medical certificate, current MMR Documentation, current TB test, statements of CORI/DCF Background check and fingerprinting, an employment application (available on SSCAC website) prior to beginning employment.

· Valid MA state driver’s license
· References will be required upon hire
