The Opportunity: We are seeking Senior AI Automation Developers to lead the technical design and implementation of our Intelligent Automation (IA) strategy. This role is pivotal in transitioning our infrastructure toward an AI-first model, blending traditional RPA stability with the power of Generative AI and agentic orchestration.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • AI-Driven Development: Build, optimise, and maintain scalable automation workflows using Claude Code and modern AI development tools to accelerate software delivery and agentic workflows.
  • GenAI & Agentic Orchestration: Develop and deploy autonomous AI agents and skills that interact with advanced Large Language Models (LLMs) via the SS&C AI Gateway, seamlessly blending them with WHQ Agents and Digital Workers.
  • Modern UI Automation: Design and build robust, resilient automation frameworks targeting desktop applications via FlaUI and modern web systems using Playwright, completely moving away from legacy application spying techniques.
  • Enterprise Work Queue Management: Design and optimise high-throughput automation architectures utilising Blue Prism v7 Work Queues (Work HQ) to manage transactional data, case locking, and exception handling for hybrid AI-human workflows.
  • Hybrid Solution Architecture: Lead the technical design of end-to-end Intelligent Automation (IA) solutions, incorporating Blue Prism Chorus for BPM and GenAI orchestration where human-in-the-loop intervention is required.
  • Prompt Engineering & Fine-Tuning: Design, evaluate, and refine complex prompt structures and system instructions to ensure predictable, structured, and deterministic outputs from AI models.
  • Standards, Governance & Trust: Adhere to best practices, ensuring all automation components, WHQ Agents, and generative AI integrations comply with enterprise-grade security, data privacy, and ethical AI guardrails.

What You Will Bring:

  • Critical Software Engineering Skills:
    • Python: Critical Requirement. Expert proficiency for AI/LLM tooling, data processing, and scripting agentic or web-based automation workflows (e.g., Playwright, LangChain).
    • C# .NET: Critical Requirement. Robust experience for building enterprise-grade backend integrations, custom automation solutions, and handling native desktop interactions via FlaUI.
    • TypeScript: Critical Requirement. Strong proficiency in modern web-based automation with Playwright, cloud functions, and front-end/API orchestration within advanced AI platforms.
  • Mandatory Database & SQL Competency:
    • PostgreSQL: Mandatory Requirement. Advanced experience in designing, querying, and managing relational databases for transactional logging, configuration, and enterprise scaling.
    • MS SQL: Mandatory Requirement. Deep proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server, complex queries, indexing, and stored procedures to support backend enterprise systems.
  • Generative AI & Intelligent Automation:
    • AI Development Tools: Hands-on experience with Claude Code, Anthropic APIs, and open-source AI frameworks to build autonomous systems.
    • Platform Integration: Proficiency in integrating enterprise environments, WHQ Agents, and Digital Workers with cloud-based AI ecosystems (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Azure OpenAI, Google Vertex AI).
    • Data Transformation: Expert knowledge in processing complex, unstructured data (emails, multi-page PDFs, legal documents) using GenAI extraction and advanced OCR tools.
    • Prompt Engineering: Deep understanding of advanced prompting techniques (Chain-of-Thought, Few-Shot, Retrieval-Augmented Generation) and token management.
  • Core Platform & Framework Infrastructure:
    • UI Automation Libraries: Advanced, hands-on experience with Playwright for high-performance web testing/automation and FlaUI for reliable accessibility-based desktop automation.
    • Blue Prism Ecosystem: Strong experience with Blue Prism Enterprise v7.x (v7.4 or above preferred) with an emphasis on Control Room management, deployment, and backend API usage rather than traditional client-side studio development.
    • Queue Architecture: Mastery of Work Queues (Work HQ) configuration, priority tagging, and multi-robot queue consumption models.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Vector Databases: Nice-to-have experience with vector storage systems (e.g., Pinecone, Milvus, pgvector) to implement semantic search and advanced RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) patterns.
    • Blue Prism Professional Developer Certification.
    • Experience transitioning traditional RPA architectures to code-first, AI-driven automation ecosystems that integrate hybrid WHQ Agents and Digital Workers.
    • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and LLMOps/DevOps practices.
    • Understanding of VPC environments (Azure / AWS).

How to prepare for a job interview at SS&C

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned. If SS&C uses React or Node.js, for instance, be ready to discuss how we’ve used them in previous projects or coursework.
