The Opportunity: We are looking for an ambitious developer to help us transition from traditional RPA (Robotic Process Automation) techniques and replace it with smart, code-first Agentic Automations. Working alongside senior engineers, you will use Python, C# .NET, and advanced AI gateways to build autonomous agents and robust UI workflows. A core part of your day-to-day will involve using BluePrism WorkHQ to keep high-throughput transactional data moving smoothly and securely. If you want to move into modern, AI-driven software delivery, this is where you start.

What You Will Get To Do:

  • I-Driven Development: Build, test, and maintain automation workflows using modern AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate software delivery and support agentic processes.
  • AI & Agentic Implementation: Assist in developing and deploying AI agents and skills that connect to Large Language Models (LLMs) via the SS&C AI Gateway, coordinating them with Digital Workers.
  • Modern UI Automation: Develop robust automation components targeting desktop applications using FlaUI and modern web systems using Playwright.
  • Work Queue & Platform Management: Implement and configure automation queues within WorkHQ (the SS&C Blue Prism RPA and agentic platform) to manage transactional data, case locking, and exception-handling logic for hybrid workflows.
  • Solution Support & Collaboration: Contribute code and configuration to end-to-end Intelligent Automation (IA) solutions, including workflows involving Blue Prism Chorus for human-in-the-loop intervention.
  • Prompt Engineering: Write, test, and refine prompt structures and system instructions to ensure predictable and structured outputs from AI models.
  • Standards & Governance: Follow established GIDS best practices, ensuring all code, agents, and generative AI integrations adhere to enterprise security, data privacy, and ethical guardrails.

Technical Skills & Qualifications What You Will Bring:

  • Core Software Engineering Skills: Strong foundational knowledge or professional experience using Python for data processing, scripting, or web-based automation workflows (e.g., Playwright).
  • C# .NET: Solid understanding of C# for building backend integrations and handling native desktop interactions via FlaUI.
  • TypeScript: Familiarity or academic/professional project experience with TypeScript for web automation (Playwright) or API coordination.
  • Database & SQL Competency: Solid capability in writing SQL queries, joining tables, and managing data for transactional logging and configuration.
  • Generative AI & Intelligent Automation: Hands-on exposure to or a strong interest in working with modern AI coding assistants (e.g., Claude Code), LLM APIs, or open-source AI frameworks.
  • Data Transformation: Basic understanding of or exposure to processing unstructured data (e.g., PDFs, emails) using GenAI extraction or OCR tools.
  • Prompt Engineering: Awareness of basic prompting techniques (e.g., Few-Shot, Chain-of-Thought) and an understanding of how text-based AI models operate.
  • Platform & Framework Infrastructure: Familiarity with Playwright for web automation/testing and FlaUI (or similar accessibility-based frameworks) for desktop interactions.
  • Automation Ecosystems: Experience or training with Blue Prism Enterprise (v7.x preferred) or a similar RPA platform, with a preference for backend, API, and Control Room management over legacy client-side recording.
  • Queue Configuration: Understanding of work queue concepts, transactional priority tagging, and exception-handling logic.

Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Have): Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent commercial experience). Familiarity with Agile development methodologies and version control systems like Git. Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Basic awareness of Vector Databases (e.g., pgvector, Pinecone) or RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) concepts. Any foundational Blue Prism certifications.

How to prepare for a job interview at SS&C

Brush Up on Your Coding Skills

For a full-time software engineering role, it's crucial that we stay sharp with our coding abilities. Expect technical questions that might involve solving problems on the spot or discussing algorithms. Practise on platforms like LeetCode or HackerRank to get comfortable with the types of questions that often come up.

Know Your Tools and Frameworks

Make sure we’re well-acquainted with the tools and technologies listed in the job description. Familiarise ourselves with any specific frameworks or programming languages mentioned.
