The Opportunity: We are looking for a Product Manager to own the end-to-end product management and governance of the platform’s UK wrapped products: Individual Savings Account (ISA), Junior ISA (JISA), General Investment Account (GIA) and Self-Invested Personal Pension (SIPP). You’ll maintain the product roadmap and lead the controlled development, enhancement and retirement of product features across technology, operations, compliance, legal, tax, finance, distribution and client teams.
You will be part of a team that’s responsible for driving the development and evolution of our wealth platform management solutions. The role requires detailed knowledge of how UK investment and pension wrappers operate across the full lifecycle, including eligibility, subscriptions and contributions, transfers, withdrawals, tax treatment, fees, reporting, servicing and closure. The successful candidate must convert complex regulatory and technical requirements into controlled product designs, clear documentation and executable delivery plans, while balancing customer outcomes, commercial objectives, platform scalability and risk.
What You Will Get To Do:
- Product Strategy, Governance and Lifecycle: Define and maintain the product strategy, proposition, target market and roadmap for ISA, JISA, GIA and SIPP products. Lead periodic product reviews covering performance, value, service quality, complaints, foreseeable harm, operational resilience and continued suitability. Lead or support product governance forums, presenting proposals, evidence, risks, options and recommendations for approval. Maintain the product inventory, ownership model, decision log, control framework and lifecycle evidence. Assess legacy features and product exceptions, recommending remediation, simplification or closure where appropriate.
- Product Development & Delivery: Translate client, adviser, regulatory and business needs into clear product requirements, acceptance criteria and prioritised plans. Partner with technology, architecture, change and operations to ensure product rules, calculations, workflows, data, interfaces and controls are designed correctly. Provide product ownership through discovery, design, build, testing, implementation and post-launch review. Ensure operational readiness, including procedures, training, communications, controls, support and migration considerations. Drive simplification, automation and standardisation to improve scalability, reduce risk and enhance adviser and customer experience.
- Regulatory, Tax & Customer Outcomes: Maintain strong working knowledge of the regulatory and tax frameworks relevant to ISA, JISA, GIA and SIPP products, including FCA expectations, Consumer Duty, HMRC requirements, pensions regulation and reporting obligations. Ensure product design, distribution, servicing and communications support good customer outcomes and remain consistent with target markets and distribution strategies. Coordinate regulatory change impact assessments and ensure product, process, system, disclosure and control changes are delivered by the required effective date. Oversee product risks, breaches, errors and customer detriment, including escalation, root-cause analysis, remediation and lessons learned. Work with Compliance, Risk, Legal, Tax and Operations to maintain documented interpretations, decisions and audit-ready evidence.
- Reporting, T&Cs & Product Collateral: Own requirements and controls supporting regulatory, statutory and management reporting, including data quality, reconciliations, governance and sign-off. Maintain Terms & Conditions, schedules, key features and disclosures, application and transfer forms, adviser guides, client literature, fee information, website content and internal knowledge material. Coordinate legal, compliance, tax, operational and client approvals for new or amended documentation, with effective version control and distribution. Ensure communications are accurate, accessible, consistent across channels, clear, fair and not misleading. Develop management information covering product performance, service, risk, customer outcomes, complaints, obligations and roadmap delivery.
What You Will Bring:
- Significant product management, product ownership or proposition experience in a UK wealth platform, investment provider, pension provider or regulated financial services business.
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of ISA, JISA, GIA and SIPP products, including rules, customer journeys, transfers, contributions/subscriptions, withdrawals, tax treatment and servicing.
- Strong understanding of relevant FCA, HMRC and pensions regulatory expectations, including Consumer Duty and product governance.
- Experience leading product change from assessment and requirements through governance, delivery, implementation and post-launch review.
- Experience owning or materially contributing to regulatory reporting, product controls, Terms & Conditions and customer/adviser collateral.
- Ability to interpret complex regulation and technical detail and communicate clear recommendations to senior and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, risk-management and decision-making skills, with high attention to detail and disciplined governance.
- Excellent stakeholder management across technology, operations, compliance, risk, legal, tax, finance, distribution, clients and third parties.
Desirable:
- Experience working with a UK platform operator, ISA manager, SIPP operator, trustee, custodian or outsourced administrator.
- Knowledge of platform architecture, product configuration, data models, tax calculations, integration requirements and digital journeys.
- Experience of product migrations, book transfers, legacy product rationalisation or large-scale platform transformation.
- Experience supporting regulatory engagement, internal audit, external assurance or remediation programmes.
- Relevant professional qualification in investments, pensions, financial planning, compliance or product management.
