SS&C is seeking a Claims Administrator to join our Life & Pensions Operations team in Bristol. The role will be responsible for the accurate and timely administration of claims across a range of life, protection and pension products within a regulated outsourced environment.
Working as part of a client-focused operational team, the successful candidate will manage claims through the end-to-end lifecycle, ensuring customers and beneficiaries receive an efficient, accurate and empathetic service. The role requires strong attention to detail, sound judgement and the ability to work within defined regulatory, contractual and operational controls.

What You Will Get To Do:
- Manage life, protection and pension claims from initial notification through to assessment, settlement and closure.
- Review claim documentation and policy information to establish eligibility and ensure all required evidence has been received.
- Liaise professionally and sensitively with customers, beneficiaries, advisers, trustees and other relevant parties throughout the claims process.
- Obtain and review supporting documentation, escalating complex or unusual cases to appropriate technical specialists where required.
- Accurately calculate and process claim benefits in accordance with policy terms, procedures and delegated authorities.
- Maintain accurate and complete customer and policy records across relevant administration and workflow systems.
- Ensure claims are progressed within agreed SLAs, quality standards and client requirements, proactively managing outstanding information and potential delays.
- Complete appropriate quality and control checks and ensure a clear audit trail is maintained for all decisions and transactions.
- Identify and escalate potential customer detriment, complaints, financial crime concerns, data protection issues or other operational risks.
- Apply appropriate consideration to vulnerable customers and Consumer Duty requirements, supporting the delivery of good customer outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues across Operations, Finance, Actuarial, Client Services and other specialist teams to resolve complex cases.
- Support reconciliation, reporting and MI requirements associated with claims processing.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, identifying opportunities to simplify processes, strengthen controls and improve customer experience.
- Support cross-training and knowledge sharing to build capability and resilience across the wider Operations team.

- Previous experience in Life & Pensions, insurance, protection, investments or wider financial services.
- Previous claims administration or claims-handling experience would be particularly advantageous.
- Knowledge of life assurance, pensions or protection products.
- Experience working within an FCA-regulated environment or outsourced/BPO operation.
- Understanding of Consumer Duty, vulnerable customer requirements and the importance of good customer outcomes.
- Experience using policy administration, workflow or case-management systems.
