The Senior Loan Administrator / Accountant's responsibilities include performing loan servicing and loan accounting functions on assigned commercial mortgage portfolios. The individual will be responsible for uploading loans onto SS&C's loan servicing software, processing loan payments, generating billing statements, processing escrow disbursement, generating payoff letters, and handling loan inquiries from both loan borrowers and mortgage lender clients. The Senior Loan Administrator / Accountant will also be responsible for calculating expected credit loss on loan portfolios based on published risk criteria.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform daily and monthly loan servicing processes, loan balance / GL reconciliation, and reporting functions.
- Upload newly originated / purchased loans onto SS&C loan servicing software and send welcome package to borrower.
- Generate various loan notices such as billing statements, maturity notices, late payment notices, payoff statements, etc.
- Monitor that loans are not in breach of any covenant agreements.
- Track and update collateral and compliance on loans including rent rolls and operating statements.
- Process loan cash transactions such as payment processing, loan payoff, escrow disbursement, investor sales, etc.
- Monitor cash accounts and reconcile loan payments received from borrowers.
- Produce month end servicing reports and any other ad hoc management reports as requested by client.
- Perform critical self-review of work product prior to submission to client and/or supervisor.
- Contribute to other ad hoc inquiries and assist on internal projects.
- Liaise with clients and internal contacts on a day to day basis.
Qualifications / Desired Attributes
- Minimum of a BS degree or equivalent.
- Relevant experience in commercial real estate loan administration or accounting is essential.
- Experience doing servicing or loan administration for complex commercial loans is preferable (e.g., construction loans).
- Self-starter and ability to work independently to meet daily, monthly, and project deliverables.
- Ability to identify processing issues and formulate resolutions.
- Experience with ESMA reporting is nice to have.
- Strong ability to communicate professionally with internal / external contacts.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to remain highly organized in a deadline-driven environment while maintaining strict attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, with advanced working knowledge of Excel.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft SQL preferred.
