This is a high-impact role, offering the opportunity to drive transformation at scale across complex delivery environments.
You will provide support to, and be involved in, the Inception Process for projects including governance, reporting and facilitating the handover from inception to the design and delivery stages of the projects. This will cover complex/higher business priority activities, but you will also be expected to lead a series of projects with less complexity but with equal, or higher, business priority.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a proven track record in managing complex IT projects, including infrastructure, data centres, cloud and application migrations.
What You Will Get To Do:
- Lead end-to-end delivery of multi-stream projects across Life & Pensions, platform upgrades, and outsourcing transformations.
- Define project scope, objectives, governance, and success metrics in collaboration with sponsors and stakeholders.
- Manage cross-functional teams, including technical and operational workstreams, ensuring resource alignment and milestone tracking.
- Maintain full financial control—monitoring budgets, forecasts, and tolerance levels.
- Own project governance, documentation, RAID management, and status reporting.
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and third parties.
- Ensure compliance with internal change frameworks and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You Will Bring:
- 5+ years of delivering IT Infrastructure projects within financial services, with essential experience in Life & Pensions.
- Demonstrated experience delivering within the Life and Pension sector and/or BPO projects in a regulated environment.
- Proven ability to deliver across various IT areas e.g. digital solutions, Cloud estate, End of life replacement approaches for SW & HW, Hosting solutions and SDLC.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Jira, Confluence), ideally holding a Project Management certification (Prince 2 or Agile).
- Strong Project Management methodology experience across both Agile and Waterfall deliveries.
- Ability to work under pressure, always maintaining a calm and assertive manner.
- Understanding of Software Development Lifecycle standards as well as the full IT Infrastructure (including change management).
- Understanding of ITIL practices and service transition.
