About the Role
Sector: Civil Engineering / Infrastructure
Our client is seeking a Site Engineer to support the delivery of a major civil engineering project in the Didcot area. Working closely with the Section Engineer and site management team, you will be responsible for setting out, quality control and providing technical support to ensure works are delivered safely, accurately and in line with programme requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out, surveying and dimensional control for site works
- Interpret and work from drawings, specifications and construction information
- Support day‑to‑day engineering activities on site
- Assist with planning and coordinating works to meet programme deadlines
- Liaise with subcontractors, supervisors and the wider project team
- Ensure works comply with quality standards, specifications and tolerances
- Maintain accurate site records, as‑built information and site diaries
- Arrange and monitor material testing and calibration of equipment
- Promote and maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance
- Support the site management team with additional duties as required
Requirements
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
- Previous experience working as a Site Engineer, ideally with a main contractor
- Strong setting‑out skills using GPS / total station equipment
- Good understanding of construction methods and quality control processes
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Proactive and methodical approach to problem‑solving
- Valid CSCS card required
