About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to support the delivery of a major civil engineering project in the Didcot area. This role sits at the heart of the site delivery team, responsible for managing specific sections of work, ensuring technical compliance, and coordinating construction activities in line with programme, quality and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Setting out and engineering control for assigned sections of works
  • Managing day-to-day engineering activities on site
  • Ensuring works are delivered in accordance with drawings, specifications and method statements
  • Liaising with site management, foremen and subcontractors to coordinate works
  • Producing and reviewing RAMS, ITPs and permits as required
  • Monitoring progress against programme and reporting any issues or risks
  • Maintaining accurate site records, as-built information and quality documentation
  • Supporting health, safety and environmental standards across site operations
  • Assisting with temporary works coordination and design checks where required

Requirements

  • Relevant qualification in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience as a Section Engineer within civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Strong technical background in works such as earthworks, drainage, structures, highways or utilities
  • Good understanding of construction methods, specifications and quality control
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Ability to manage own section of works and work collaboratively with site teams
