Our client is a leading highways contractor with a strong reputation for delivering complex infrastructure projects across the Northwest. Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are looking to recruit a Project Manager to lead key projects. Role Overview: The Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing the successful delivery of highways projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and safety. You will lead a multidisciplinary team, coordinate with stakeholders, and manage all aspects of the project lifecycle from initiation through to completion. Key Responsibilities: * Lead and manage multiple highways construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring project objectives are met in terms of scope, budget, and timelines. * Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, resources, budgets, and risk management plans. * Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, including overseeing safety audits and risk assessments. * Provide leadership and direction to project teams, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring clear communication and efficient teamwork. * Manage client and stakeholder relationships, providing regular project updates, addressing concerns, and maintaining a high level of client satisfaction. * Oversee procurement and supply chain management, ensuring all materials, equipment, and subcontractors are sourced effectively. * Track project progress, resolve issues, and adapt plans to ensure continued success and delivery. * Monitor financial performance and manage project budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality. * Prepare and present project status reports, progress updates, and post-project evaluations. * Work closely with design teams, engineers, and other technical specialists to ensure the successful integration of designs into construction. * Foster a culture of continuous improvement, driving efficiencies and innovation in project delivery. Key Requirements: * A degree or equivalent qualification in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. * Proven experience as a Project Manager within the highways, civil engineering, or construction industry (minimum 3-5 years). * Strong understanding of highways infrastructure and construction methods. * Proficiency with project management software (MS Project, Asta Powerproject, etc.). * Full UK driving license and ability to travel to project sites as required. Desirable Qualifications: * Experience with major highways or road infrastructure projects. * Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 forms of contract.
