About the role: My client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead commercial delivery across major civil engineering, Groundworks & RC Frame projects in London. The candidate will be responsible for coordinating project teams, managing timelines and budgets, and ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards.
About the responsibilities:
- Plan and manage the safe delivery of the project at hand and direct a multi-disciplinary team through the project to ensure deadlines are met; ensuring that detailed programmes are drawn up for each stage.
- Manage the day-to-day working, utilisation, implementation and technical consultants engaged on client assignments. From ensuring the correct material turns up before a job, to explaining the work ethics and activities to colleagues.
- Manage relationships with the client team and third parties to ensure works are able to progress without delay.
- Ensure that all stakeholders are kept up to date with works progress.
- Ensure completed works are signed off before they are accessed by follow-on trades.
- Liaise with estimators, buyers and commercial managers to ensure that materials are being ordered on time and in sufficient quantities to meet project deadlines.
- Identify any aspects of the project which have significant potential to cause disputes or additional costs to be incurred and resolve as appropriate.
- Record all activities outside the scope of works.
- Contribute to and develop detailed scopes with the cost team.
- Plan works thoroughly to maintain a safe system of work specific to each project.
- Interrogate design to ensure buildability and identify opportunities for improvements.
- Ensure that the clients' requirements are balanced with the overall aims of the Building Company targets and plan and arrange visits to new potential clients.
