The Health & Safety Manager will be responsible for overseeing SHEQ performance across multiple cladding and façade remediation projects, ensuring the highest standards of health, safety, environmental, and welfare compliance are maintained at all times. The successful candidate will work closely with operational teams, subcontractors, and clients to drive a proactive safety culture across high-risk works including scaffolding, working at height, external envelope installation, temporary works, and live residential environments.
Our client is a well-established construction and property services contractor delivering projects across London and the South East. They have developed a strong reputation within the cladding remediation, retrofit, and façade sector, delivering high-quality external envelope and fire remediation projects across residential and mixed-use developments. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Manager with strong experience across cladding, facades, external envelope, scaffolding, and high-rise construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage H&S performance across cladding remediation and façade projects.
- Ensure compliance with CDM Regulations, HSE legislation, and company SHEQ procedures.
- Review RAMS, scaffold inspections, temporary works documentation, and construction phase plans.
- Lead investigations into incidents, accidents, and near misses.
- Support project teams in identifying and managing high-risk activities and work at height operations.
- Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and H&S guidance to site teams and subcontractors.
- Liaise with clients, residents, subcontractors, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven Health & Safety Management experience within:
- Cladding remediation
- Facades / external envelope
- High-rise residential projects
- Strong understanding of:
- Scaffolding operations
- Working at height
- Temporary works
- Fire remediation / façade safety
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate minimum.
- CSCS Card.
- Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and HSE guidance.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Full UK driving licence.
Desirable
- NVQ Level 6 in Occupational Health & Safety.
- IOSH Membership (GradIOSH / CMIOSH).
- Experience working on occupied residential buildings and live environments.
