About the Client

Our client is a well-established Mechanical & Electrical contractor delivering high-quality residential and mixed-use developments across London and the South East. With a strong reputation for technical delivery, collaboration and client satisfaction, they continue to secure major projects across the residential sector.

Due to continued growth, they are looking to appoint an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team working on a major Central London residential scheme.

Duties May Include:

  • Lead feasibility studies, assessing material, labour and programme costs from project inception.
  • Act as the main commercial point of contact across projects.
  • Identify commercially viable solutions and provide practical cost advice.
  • Manage project costs from pre-construction through to final account.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate monthly cost reports and forecasts.
  • Produce weekly and monthly commercial reports for senior management.
  • Manage subcontract procurement, tender analysis and package awards.
  • Prepare and manage extension of time and loss & expense submissions.
  • Monitor and manage project variations and commercial claims.
  • Monitor all project expenditure including preliminaries, orders and invoices.
  • Prepare and submit monthly applications for payment.
  • Administer main contracts to protect the company’s commercial position.
  • Manage subcontractor accounts and payment applications.

Requirements:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience, ideally within the residential M&E sector
  • Ability to review technical drawings for take-offs, valuations and variations
  • Experience working on commercial and residential construction projects
  • Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Self-motivated with a professional and proactive attitude
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
