About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Project Safety Lead to support the safe delivery of a major capital project at a production and packaging facility in Leven, Fife.
The project involves the installation of a new production line, incorporating construction works, mechanical and electrical (M&E) packages, process equipment and packaging machinery within an operational manufacturing environment.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary project team, you will provide visible safety leadership throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that contractors and subcontractors implement the required safety standards and maintain a strong safety culture.
You will act as a key link between the project team, contractors, designers, engineering safety specialists and site operations, helping to identify and manage risks from project planning through to construction, installation and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide visible safety leadership across all construction, engineering, installation and commissioning activities.
* Ensure the effective implementation of project safety policies, standards and best practices.
* Work closely with contractors and subcontractors to maintain high standards of health and safety throughout the project.
* Lead and support risk assessments, including HAZOP, RAMS and GRMS, where applicable.
* Conduct site inspections, safety audits and assurance reviews to identify risks and drive improvements.
* Monitor contractor safety performance, ensuring safe systems of work are implemented and followed.
* Challenge unsafe acts, behaviours and conditions, promoting behavioural-based safety and a proactive safety culture.
