About the Role

Our client is currently seeking an EHS Advisor to support the delivery of high-value construction projects across the UK. The successful candidate will play a key role in promoting a strong Safety First culture and ensuring ongoing compliance with statutory obligations, ISO standards, and integrated management systems. This role will involve providing onsite support to project delivery teams, reviewing documentation, carrying out inspections and audits, and helping to drive a proactive culture of safety, quality, and environmental responsibility across all site activities. This position is based on a major industrial fit-out project in the South West region of England.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a proactive Safety First culture and ensure all SHEQ standards are implemented across sites.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of construction phase plans, H&S files, and project-specific quality plans.
  • Ensure subcontractors are pre-qualified and verified prior to commencing work.
  • Review safety, environmental, and quality documentation for compliance and suitability.
  • Coordinate and participate in project pre-start and pre-commencement meetings.
  • Conduct regular site SHEQ audits and produce weekly reports.
  • Liaise with clients, regulatory bodies, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders as required.
  • Support compliance with statutory regulations and ISO management systems across live projects.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to site teams to promote best practice and continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

Required Skills & Knowledge

  • NEBOSH General or Construction.
  • Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation and best practice.
  • Understanding of environmental and quality management systems.
  • Experience working with ISO management systems including ISO 45001, ISO 9001, and ISO 14001.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to positively influence and support operational teams to improve SHEQ performance.

Experience Required

  • Previous experience within an EHS role in the construction sector.
  • Experience carrying out SHEQ audits and managing subcontractor compliance.
  • Experience providing operational support within fast-paced construction environments.
  • Fluent English communication skills.
  • Must be UK-based with flexibility to travel as required.
