About the Client Our client is a leading engineering and construction contractor delivering major, technically complex projects across the UK and internationally. With extensive experience within the data centre, life sciences, commercial and critical infrastructure sectors, they have built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will be joining an established project team working on a major data centre development in Didcot, Oxfordshire, providing an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a fast-paced and highly regulated environment. About the Role Our client are currently seeking an experienced EHS Advisor to join the project team on a major data centre project in Didcot, Oxfordshire. The EHS Advisor will work closely with the Project and Site Management teams, subcontractors and workforce to ensure high standards of Environmental, Health & Safety are maintained throughout the project. This is a hands-on site-based position, ideal for an EHS professional with a strong construction background who is looking to develop their experience within the data centre sector. Key Responsibilities * Provide day-to-day EHS advice and support to the project and site teams. * Carry out regular site inspections, audits and safety walks. * Review and monitor RAMS, method statements and safe systems of work. * Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near misses. * Monitor subcontractor compliance with project EHS requirements. * Deliver and support site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings. * Assist with the implementation and monitoring of the project EHS management system. * Identify potential hazards and ensure appropriate corrective and preventative actions are implemented. * Maintain accurate EHS records, reports and documentation. * Support the project team in maintaining compliance with UK H&S legislation and company procedures. * Promote a positive and proactive safety culture across the project. * Work closely with Project Managers, Site Managers, Supervisors and subcontractors to continuously improve EHS performance. Requirements * NEBOSH General, Construction or equivalent EHS qualification. * 3+ years’ experience in a site-based H&S/EHS role. * Previous experience working on large-scale construction projects. * Data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, M&E or other technically complex project experience would be advantageous. * Strong knowledge of current UK H&S legislation. * Experience with RAMS, audits, inspections, incident investigation and subcontractor management. * Strong communication and interpersonal skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a wider project team. * Proactive approach to health and safety with strong attention to detail. * CSCS and relevant construction experience preferred
