The Role
You will support large‑scale earthworks delivery on HS2, including bulk excavation, haul roads, drainage, structures, and temporary works. This is a hands‑on engineering role with strong progression opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
- Setting‑out for earthworks, drainage, utilities, and structures
- Daily QA checks, ITPs, as‑built records, and technical documentation
- Supporting Section Engineers/Sub Agents with planning and coordination
- Working closely with survey teams and GPS machine control systems
- Ensuring compliance with HS2 specifications, environmental controls, and safety standards
- Contributing to progress reporting and short‑term planning
Requirements
- Degree/HND in Civil Engineering or similar
- Experience in earthworks, highways, or heavy civils
- Strong understanding of digital engineering and GPS equipment
- Ability to work across multiple work fronts in a fast‑paced environment
- Strong communication and organisational skills
