Overview
In this Mechanical Estimator role, you will develop competitive, technically compliant estimates for mechanical packages and work closely with suppliers, design teams and project colleagues.
You’ll translate drawings and specifications into accurate cost plans, flag risks and value-engineering opportunities, and support tender processes from submission to post-tender clarifications.
The role sits in the pre-construction team within an established M&E contractor, offering involvement across a varied tender pipeline.

Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings and specifications
- Perform mechanical take-offs and prepare detailed estimates
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Build labour, material, plant and subcontract costs
- Identify tender risks, exclusions and value-engineering opportunities
- Prepare tender summaries and handover information
- Liaise with clients, consultants and internal project teams
- Maintain estimating records and cost information
- Support tender interviews and post-tender clarifications
