SSA Recruitment are currently working with a leading M&E contractor delivering major projects across London and the South East. With a strong track record delivering technically complex, high-value London schemes for some of the UK’s leading developers and main contractors, the company has built an excellent reputation within the industry. Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an ambitious Project Quantity Surveyor to join their expanding commercial team. About the Role

Duties May Include:

  • Taking ownership of the commercial performance of projects alongside operational teams
  • Supporting the delivery of projects within budget while maintaining strong financial control
  • Producing valuations, cost reporting and commercial forecasts in line with project deadlines
  • Managing subcontractor accounts from procurement through to final account settlement
  • Reviewing and managing project changes, additional works and contractual adjustments
  • Maintaining strong working relationships with clients, suppliers and internal stakeholders
  • Monitoring commercial risk across projects and helping drive proactive solutions
  • Ensuring commercial processes and contractual obligations are administered correctly
  • Supporting accurate record keeping to strengthen commercial position and project recovery
  • Contributing to monthly reporting, forecasting and overall project financial performance

Requirements:

Essential

  • Previous experience within a Quantity Surveying or commercial role within construction
  • Good understanding of construction contracts and commercial procedures
  • Confident using Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Word and Teams
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills with the ability to manage costs and forecasts effectively
  • Understanding of valuation processes, cost reporting and commercial management principles
  • Ability to review drawings, measure works and assess project costs
  • Commercially aware with strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build relationships with project teams and clients

Desired

  • Experience working with JCT forms of contract
  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
  • Working towards or holding a professional accreditation such as RICS or CIOB
  • Valid CSCS card
