They are seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team in London.

The successful candidate will develop coordinated, compliant and buildable mechanical designs from concept through detailed design, construction support and project handover.

This position will work closely with project leadership, commercial, design, planning and supply-chain stakeholders, providing clear ownership of the role's key deliverables and helping the wider team achieve programme, quality, safety and financial objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce coordinated mechanical designs, calculations, schematics, layouts, specifications and equipment schedules.
  • Develop solutions that meet client requirements, statutory standards and project performance criteria.
  • Coordinate designs with architectural, structural and other building-services disciplines.
  • Review surveys, existing information and design risks, raising queries where required.
  • Prepare technical submissions and support approvals with clients, consultants and authorities.
  • Respond to RFIs and provide practical technical support during construction.
  • Participate in design reviews, value engineering and BIM coordination.
  • Support testing, commissioning, record information and project handover.
  • Candidate Profile
  • Relevant design experience and technical knowledge within mechanical building services.
  • Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering discipline.
  • Proficient with relevant calculation, design and drawing software.
  • Good understanding of UK standards, regulations, coordination and constructability.

Requirements & Experience

  • Good knowledge of relevant standards, statutory requirements and design-assurance processes.
  • Experience with BIM and coordinated digital design workflows is advantageous.
  • Ability to travel to and work from the London location as required.
