About the Client
Our client is an established M&E contractor with a growing pipeline of mechanical building services work. They are looking for a Mechanical Estimator to join their pre-construction team.
About the Role
You will prepare competitive and technically compliant estimates for mechanical packages, working closely with suppliers, subcontractors, design teams and operational colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Review tender documents, drawings and specifications
- Complete mechanical take-offs and prepare detailed estimates
- Obtain and analyse supplier and subcontractor quotations
- Build labour, material, plant and subcontract costs
- Identify tender risks, exclusions and value-engineering opportunities
- Prepare tender summaries and handover information
- Liaise with clients, consultants and internal project teams
- Maintain estimating records and cost information
- Support tender interviews and post-tender clarifications
Skills and Experience
- Mechanical estimating experience within building services
- Strong understanding of HVAC, pipework and mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret drawings and specifications
- Good numerical, analytical and Excel skills
- Strong supplier and subcontractor knowledge
- Accurate, organised and able to meet tender deadlines
